The first step towards obtaining more sales when customers visit your site is in being able to see the products that they are looking for. Obviously, search engine optimization and better rankings is not the only factor that will keep your customers on your site or make them want to buy your products. The customer having visited your site, you must then try to ensure that they also get interested in your products or services and that they will want to stay around. Try to motivate them by providing them with some clear, concise and unambiguous information. Therefore, if you happen to sell more than one product or service, try to provide all the necessary information about the product by keeping it all at a different page. By providing some suitable and more easily visible links, the customer will be able to navigate to these pages and obtain the details.
Gaining A Better Understanding Of Your Target Customer
If you decide to design a website then you must be careful to properly target your customers with a well-defined plan. The website business is an extension or replacement for a standard storefront. You will be able to send email to your existing clients and ask them to complete a survey or even when they are browsing on your website. Always ask them about their choices. Why do they like your products? Do you offer discount prices or coupons? Are your prices consistently and truly lower than others? Is your shipping price any cheaper? Do you respond any faster to client questions? Are your product descriptions more efficient? Are your return policies and guarantees better than your competitor’s? In order to know your customer you can try to check the credit card records or request from your customer to complete a simple contact form with name, address, age, gender, etc. when they decide to buy a product.
Does your website give you sufficient contact information?
When you sell from a website, your customer will be able to buy your products 24 hrs a day and so will your customers may be from other states that are thousands of miles away. Try to always provide contact information, preferably on every page of your website, complete with mailing address, telephone number and an email address that will reach you. People might need to contact you about sales, general information or technical problems on your site. Also always try to have your email forwarded to another email address if you don’t often check your website mailbox. When your customer wants to buy online, try to provide enough options such as credit card, PayPal or other online payment service.
