Helpful Tips For Webpage Designing

If you’re about to begin a new internet web project, or if you’re going to add some new pages to your existing website, you might find the few lines below quite useful. Here are the first seven steps to start properly.

The first step you must take if you want to design a new webpage is to come to a decision on what your site’s aimed function is. Afterwards you can construct the blueprint. For those of you who are new to this, you will find a very efficient tutorial over here.

STEP ONE – Generate Your Website’s Template.

The first thing that needs to be done is to get the outward look and impression of your site established so you can keep it constant throughout the website. It can be very frustrating to build several pages only to find that an element is missing in your design, so be careful of that, and save yourself the bother by browsing through a few websites whose themes are similar to yours. Look out for some websites which offer ready-made-templates for you to make use of such as http://www.freewebtemplates.com or http://freesitetemplates.com.

STEP TWO – Keep Track Of The Items That Will Be Modified On Each Page

Go over the template of your webpage and note down the things that are likely to vary on each page. Keep this list as your building checklist.

STEP THREE – Creating Your Storyboard

Bearing in mind the list from the previous step, use your text editor to create your storyboard. The following ideas might be helpful:

Filename: Make note of the name you would like to give this file ( e.g., my-first-page.html). What is usually best is to give that page the same name as your page’s targeted keyword.

Title: The title will be showing right at the top of the browser. Usually, a title is from 60 to 80 characters long. Make sure you put in your main keyword.

Keywords: These are your meta-tag description keywords. You should first type your main keyword and then put in about four more related keywords or sentences. Make sure your sentences remain under a hundred characters.

Description: Write a description of what the page’s subject is whilst trying to grab the attention of your potential visitor. A description should usually be about 150 characters long. It is recommended to put in keywords.

Body: This section should contain the page’s content. Your main keyword should if possible appear once every few paragraphs. Make sure you add some links to the pages you would like your visitors to see. Decide where your graphics, along with any ads, will be placed on your website.

Conclude: This is where you direct your content towards what you would like your visitor to act upon. It could be focused towards a click on your affiliate link, or targeted towards the purchase of a product, or just a sign up to your e-zine. Make sure you create an option with a link back towards your home page.

STEP FOUR – Creating Your New Page

Once you’ve decided on the website’s look and content, you can go onwards and open your HTML editor. Open your chosen template and the document you just created in the previous step.

STEP FIVE – Copying And Pasting

Once your template and document are open, all you need to do is to copy the text you created in your storyboard and paste it onto the template of your webpage. Once you are satisfied…

STEP SIX – Save The File And…

STEP SEVEN – Upload The File to Your Hosting address

Done! You are on your way to constructing yourself a website full of success. All that will be needed now is to market it properly for more traffic.
